We are currently under an extreme way of living. Most of the country is still under quarantining and living inside. These living conditions can be stressful both physically and mentally. Work and school from home is the norm, as Summer moves to Fall, the long term effects are starting to show up. As you start to realize you are getting more headaches, the kids are spending 5 or 6 hours in front of Zoom for school, becoming irritable and cranky. Tempers and tears are flaring more often. It’s time to make a change. There is an easy solution. See a chiropractor. How do you find a chiropractor that will connect with you and assist you in freeing yourself and helping you move forward mentally and physically?

How do you find a good chiropractor?

Ask around. I don’t mean ask Facebook, ask your friends and family. Personal referrals are the most reliable, they come from people you trust. 

Check reviews. Google chiropractors near me. Look at their reviews. Yelp, Facebook, and Nextdoor. Make sure to read several reviews, not just the first 3. Check the dates to make sure they are current. Don’t forget to see if the review mentions a name if there are multiple chiropractors. You don’t want to get the wrong impression of an employee that is no longer there. 

Research experience and credentials. Experience and education matters. How many patients have they treated? When did they graduate and do they keep up with current trends and education?  Chiropractors are required to be licensed by the state they practice in addition to the education requirements. Don’t hesitate to ask for their education details. 

Meeting and talking with a potential chiropractor is a smart idea. It does take a little extra time, but this person will be asking you details of your life, they will be getting up close for adjustments. It’s important for you to feel comfortable and trust this person. It’s a good idea to pick out 3 or 4 chiropractors and then meet with them before deciding on one. 

Know your insurance. Know what your benefits cover and verifying the chiropractor accepts it. It’s good to know your benefits, how payment works. It’s different for each office. 

Telehealth. With the recent pandemic, figuring out telehealth became a necessity. However, not many chiropractors jumped to the screen. ( Dr. Drew does) While services are limited with telehealth appointments, the privacy and integrity of the appointment are not compromised.

Scope of services. Ask how their process works, how their treatment program works, what is their practice philosophy*. Chiropractic treatments have been around for over 100 years and each chiropractor has adapted the same basics to their own way of treating patients.
